hp printer

HP Printer.

I have a HP Officejet D135, works fine with XP, but not supported with Vista....Any Ideas

A driver from the same family may give at least partial functionality. You do not say which edition of Vista (x86 or x64) you are using. If driver support was not installed with Vista then it is likely that HP has not provided a beta driver for this printer to MS for inclusion in Beta 2.
In any case Vista Beta is not listed at http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?product=64986&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&lang=en&cc=us for your printer. I see XP Pro x64 there (the most recent XP system released) so driver development for Vista is highly likely but a driver may not be available before Vista releases.

Yes, ITS A BETA.

Actually got my HP working by installing the X64 bit Pro drivers from the extended64 forums. If you use these drivers do not use the hp installer because it checks OP sys version and cancels itself. Just point device manager to where the drivers extracted to. My 7260 is working fine as is my 8250....... BTW the X64 bit pro drivers for creatives !live series of webcams also work under vista.....Shame about the Audigy support from creative tho.....;O) http://extended64.com/files/14/printer/default.aspx

Hello, I have a HP PSC 2210xi printer connected via USB on Vista 32 bit version. HP doesn't have driver available for Vista. Still I downloaded the driver for XP version and tried to install it. I'm surprised the Vista was able to recognize it and install the driver fine. When I looked at the list of printers, my printer showed. But here's the thing, when I try to print, nothing is happening.
I checked to make sure the USB cable is connected, switched to other USB port, turned the printer on/off and still nothing? So it's kind of weird that Vista is showing my printer but not connecting at all.
I noticed that the Vista has assigned my printer to a "Virtual USB port"? I'm not sure what it means but now I'm thinking of switching the cable connection to a printer port instead of USB. Wish me luck.
